‘Buy Now! — The Shopping Conspiracy’, a fab Netflix documentary on the psychological tactics and manipulative strategies used by retailers and online platforms to drive consumer spending and business growth.
But if you’ve watched similar documentaries, The Great Hack, The Social Dilemma, etc.; they all have former employees of big businesses who intentionally or unintentionally played a part in it before finally taking the side of their moral compass.
The mystery however, is how our blind devotion as customers to large consumer brands just seems to be getting stronger and stronger.
